My favorite bookstagrams of 2019

Personal Photos The Writing Community

I don’t remember exactly when I first encountered the the hashtag #bookstagram, but I did find it fascinating in an instant. I am a visual person after all, and being able to see All The Books photographed so nicely is such a treat for me. Of course it’s not just photos; bookstagrammers also post their quick reviews about the books they feature, which is a great way to find your next favorite read.

In the past four years I have been self-publishing my works of fiction, I have been tagged in many bookstagram posts featuring my books. Seeing these instantly puts a smile on my face (and my heart—HUWOW CHEESY!?) and I’m always very grateful that readers and bloggers from around the world chose to feature my book on their social media space. As I was thinking of yearend posts to write, it dawned on me that I haven’t shown much appreciation for these bookstagrams on my blog…so here’s an entire post that features (in no particular order) my favorite bookstagrams of 2019!

#BuwanNgMgaAkdangPinoy: Waiting in the Wings by Tara Frejas is a sweet theater romance set in a local theater in Manila. It's about 23-year-old Erin who has been a leading lady in so many stage productions and have experienced tons of stage kisses because of that, but has yet to experience a real one. I started reading this on a flight back from Manila to Singapore after watching a local musical in the Philippines, and it was a good choice. It felt like the right book at the right time. You could really feel the author's passion for Philippine theater through this story, and as a result, the setting feels very authentic.⁣ ⁣ A fairly low heat romance which goes well with the overall theme of Erin not having had a real life romance yet. And the kilig is totally on point, making it a very cute and sweet romance. There's also a love triangle that I surprisingly didn't mind because it's not angsty and the two men in the picture are really great guys. I believe besfluencer @readbyher called this a healthy love triangle. It just made more sense for Erin to be with the person she has feelings for, the one she's more comfortable with. This is one of those romances that shows it's just easy to be with the right person. Although I am looking forward to the other guy getting his own HEA in a companion novel to this one.⁣ ⁣ Will be adding this to my list of #romanceclass recs! Highly recommended for those curious about a theater romance set in the Philippines or if you want a quick, fun and low heat romance read.⁣ ⁣ What's your favorite theater romance or book featuring a theater setting? If you can't think of one, what's your favorite play or musical? I love Lucy Parker's theater romances and my favorite musicals are Wicked and Les Miserables. Rak of Aegis is also loads of fun and I highly recommend it. . . . #bookreview #TaraFrejas #WaitingintheWings #Filipinoauthors #Filipinobooks #diversereads #diverseromance #ownvoices #romancestagram #romancereads #bookstagram #booksofig #bookaesthetic #bookcommunity #bookdragon #bookobsessed #bookaddicts #bookish #cozyreads #bookishfeed #lovetoread

I liked it so I kept it. 💗⁣ •⁣ Also, tomorrow is the start of #AklatanBookFair2019, an All-Filipino book fair, and RomanceClass is gonna be at Booth #11, Megatrade Hall 3, SM Megamall Bldg. B from 10am to 7pm. This runs only Wednesday and Thursday (November 20-21), and I will be there tomorrow (to take a break from life and from writing this WIP that's not quite turning out the way I've imagined it. *yikes 😬*)⁣ •⁣ *I'm not yet sure which books will be on stock there though so watch out for my stories tomorrow! ~I will try my best to be a good #besfluencer. LOL. Minsan lang eh. 😉😘💗⁣ • 📸: besfluencer @readbyher (i think. Another book mail that I received this week: Scandalized and Play it by Ear (Backstage Pass 1 & 2) by Tara Frejas! ° ° I've read and reviewed Scandalized for my blog a few years back and remembered that I thoroughly enjoyed it. KPop? Their crazy industry? With a Pinay in the middle of it? Heck yeah, I'm in. 🥰 From then on, I followed Tara Frejas and her releases. So here we are now with her recent one, Play it by Ear, the second book off of her Backstage Pass series. I recently talked about it here on bookstagram community and posted a review of it on my blog. Go check it out if you have time or interested with it. Look at those pretty artsy book covers. I'll forever have heart eyes over them. 😍 ° ° Shoutout to the entire #romanceclass! If you still haven't come across them, just click on the hashtag and I'm sure you'll come across various titles. You can also look for them on Google and Twitter. 🥰 #booksofinstagram #bookstagramph #bookstragram #bibliophile #bibliophileph #books #booksph #igreadsph #igreads #pinoyauthor #tarafrejas

Thank you so much for featuring my books on your Instagram accounts — always love seeing the different ways bookstagrams are created, and I’m learning so much! Yep, you read that right, I’m trying my best to bookstagram as many of the books I’ve read so that I can pay your kindness forward and promote reads I loved. <3 Looking forward to 2020’s bookstagrams!
