Meet your Summer Crush!

By the time I hit Publish on this blog post, Summer Crush will have been two days old. It still feels pretty surreal that Six, Jay, and I were able to make it this far, and really, all we could tell ourselves the moment Jay uploaded the book on Amazon was “WE DID IT. WE REALLY DID IT!”

I have plenty more things to say, but that’s going to go on my “reflection paper” (Jay already posted hers, haha) which should be up in a few days. For now, I’m going to leave you with these:

Give it to me straight “Promdi Heart”

Seems like it’s the season for wonderful romance anthologies, because here’s another one from six #romanceclass authors I look up to. Promdi Heart: Hometown Love Stories is a collection of short stories set in six different provinces in the Philippines–Misamis Occidental, Negros Occidental, Aklan, Bulacan, Ilocos Sur, and Zambales. I one-clicked this gem after its March 29 release (but I’ve not read it yet–I will get to it soon!) and I really think you should, too. I’ve seen a lot of people tweet positive thoughts about this book, and I feel like turning the book’s pages will take me on a lovely, lovely trip.

Promdi Heart: Hometown Love Stories
C.P. Santi, Ines Bautista-Yao, Jay E. Tria, Chris Mariano, Georgette S. Gonzales, Agay Llanera

Take a quick tour of the Philippines with six hometown love stories.

Visit Jimenez, Misamis Occidental where a priest might just set you up with a man whose dimples are to die for.

Visit Silay, Negros Occidental and get on a horse alongside hunky, hazel-eyed Negrense royalty.

Visit Kalibo, Aklan and find yourself in the arms of a cute drummer boy who just happens to be your kuya’s BFF.

Visit Hagonoy, Bulacan and spend All Saint’s Day next to a distracting boy who promises to write you a song.

Visit Vigan, Ilocos Sur and meet the hot man you used to bully when he was a shy, scrawny boy.

Visit Pundaquit, Zambales and find love in a bronzed fisherman whose eyes hold depths you’ll want to explore.

Buy it on Amazon!
Add it on Goodreads!

COVER REVEAL: Summer Crush by Six de los Reyes, Tara Frejas, and Jay E. Tria

Aaaand it’s heeeeere! ^_^ The collaborative project Six, Jay, and I have been working on now has its official ~face, thanks to the magic of Miles Tan (who was also my book cover designer for Waiting in the Wings)! Take a look! <3

Summer Crush
Six de los Reyes, Tara Frejas, Jay E. Tria

Beach. Love. Rock and roll.

When life, love, and rock and roll come together on the sandy beaches of La Union for music festival Summer Crush, expect nothing less than the crashing of lips, bodies, and waves against the shore, against each other, and against your soul.

Allow these three tales of love to take you away for an unforgettable weekend.

Ana’s life as a corporate warrior, graduate student, and girlfriend to indie rock band boy Miki starts to spin out of control, and she wonders if it is love that has to give. (You Only Need Reminding, Jay E. Tria)

Newly reinstated EG Project roadie Filipina Legaspi flies with her band back to the Philippines for Summer Crush, unaware of the emotional waves that engulf her when she sets foot in the beaches of San Juan, La Union. (Almost There, Tara Frejas)

Rhys has three problems: Arabella, the theme song with the Trainguy, and singing live for the first time—and now also on that list is Isaiah, sea-sweet Mango Rum kisses, and long overdue decisions she’s intent on avoiding. (Ocean Eyes, Six de los Reyes)

Add it on Goodreads!

I’ll be back with an Amazon link very, very SOON! <3

Is it summer yet?

summer crush teaser

I posted the above teaser back in January, while I was planning this special project with fellow authors Six de los Reyes and Jay E. Tria. Fast forward to a little less than two months later, and I am proud to say we have a complete manuscript in our hands. <3 I won’t go into detail yet about the crazy process we went through to be be able to release this collaboration because we’re not done yet (haha), but while you’re waiting (Are you waiting? We hope you are!), here are some teasers you may have missed.

Instagram will load in the frontend.

#RomanceClass x Ayala Museum: A GIF + Video Post

First things first: Please DO NOT expect much coherence from this post. I know, I know. I’m a writer… I should at least manage to string together some decent words, yes? But Too Many Feelings and Too Few Hours of Sleep can do things to the brain, so… anyway.

February 11 was another day of firsts for #romanceclass. Let me enumerate them:

  • First time holding an event at the Ayala Museum
  • First time having six actors live read scenes from our books
  • First time having a How to Write a Romance Novel lecture read by the live readers
  • First time having a three-way live reading
  • First time having Vanya Castor as a live reader

Did I miss anything?

I probably did.

So yeah, anyway… we did a lot of other stuff before the live reading. That included book and merch selling, eating FREE cookies (thanks, Abbie! :D), browsing new books at the Book Cafe (thanks Caryn! :D), finding book blind dates, and playing games. To be honest, I only had two hours of sleep prior to the event, but the energy in the room (where it happened) kept me going.
