Cover Reveal: Love As You Are

Its finally here! The official cover of Love As You Are is finally here!!!

First of all, my heartfelt thanks to my little ~team: Miles Tan, who digitally illustrated and designed the cover based on Chi Yu Rodriguez’s photos of Marynor Madamesila and Rendell Sanchez. It was stressful yet still so much fun from organizing the shoot schedule, being ~present at the actual shoot, picking the perfect photo to use (it’s actually very challenging when you have two gorgeous models and so many gorgeous pictures to choose from), to finessing the final art. Thank you all for your time and patience.

So yeah, enough yapping. Here’s the full cover of Love As You Are!

Come and tambay with us next Saturday at #KiligCafe!

I’m back with a cool update—I’m going to be part of a Writing Celebrity/Showbiz Romance panel at the next stop of Kilig Cafe’s Tambay Tour! <3

The Kilig Cafe Tambay Tour is a mix between a casual writing/reading hangout and an intimate discussion with authors and other special guest speakers. We kicked off this fun new project last June 6 at Hygge Book Apothecary, a Pride Month edition with authors Brigitte Bautista and Chi Yu Rodriguez. We also invited our live readers Migs Almendras, Teetin Villanueva, and Hessa Palma to do a mini live reading of excerpts from Brij’s and Chi’s books.

On July 4, I will be one of the panelists together with fellow #RomanceClass author Danice Mae P. Sison and industry friends Celeste Lumasac-Santiago and Katherine Visconti.

Celeste Lumasac-Santiago is the program manager of “Magpakailanman,” the longest running and most awarded drama anthology on GMA and “Kamao,” the newest afternoon prime drama program on GMA.

Katherine Visconti is a professional writer with over a decade of experience. She began her career as a journalist in the Philippines, then went to Hollywood to write for popular U.S. television series, “Chicago P.D.” and “FBI.” She has also produced streaming shows across Southeast Asia, including the award-winning romantic series “K-Love” and “Secret Ingredient.” Katherine holds a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University with a double major in Writing Seminars and East Asian Studies.

This Tambay Tour is happening at the 2nd floor of Communé Cafe in Poblacion, Makati, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. If you’d like to join us next week, please sign up for a slot here! The entrance fee is P500, inclusive of a drink, pastry, and a small gift. Walk-ins are also welcome, with an entrance fee of P600.

We hope to see you there!

I’ve got two Kindle book deals for you!

Hey, hey! Just popping in here quickly to say I’ve got two Kindle book deals happening right now, because I’m celebrating the 1st book birthday of Connect the Hearts, and today is World Theatre Day! Check out the details below:

Waiting in the Wings
$1.99 on Amazon until Sunday, March 31

At twenty-three, theatre actress Erin Javier has yet to fall in love or kiss a boy offstage, away from the klieg lights. She is the perfect leading lady—whose heart men would fight for, win, and protect—unfortunately, only until the curtains fall and the lights go down. In real life, Erin is a certified NBSB whose heart has been hoping for a song to dance to.

But when two (two!) men enter from stage left and right, Erin is confused. Who deserves to take center stage in her heart—Mr. Theatre Royalty whose attention and displays of affection make her pulse race, or a good friend whose steady support has helped steer her to success and fulfill her dream?

Buy it here.

Connect the Hearts: a short story collection
$1.99 on Amazon until Tuesday, March 31.

Connect the Hearts is a collection of four short stories that explore the many ways we find, forge, and foster our relationships using the technology available to us.

Tech Week Makes the Heart Grow Fonder is about Erin and Ramon (Waiting in the Wings) navigating a semi-long distance relationship for a week when they work on separate theatre productions in busy, traffic-riddled Metro Manila.

In Best Days Ever, an invitation to celebrate a dog’s last day on earth reunites childhood friends David and Gita, who now live starkly different lives thousands of miles apart.

Forever-busy talent manager Cleo Gascon meets an unexpected match in Finding Mr. Swipe Right when she goes on a rage-swiping spree upon learning her date wasn’t going to show up.

And finally, Happy Endings Please, and Thank You has Pio and Audrey (Like Nobody’s Watching) checking in on each other during the 2020 lockdown via video call. (This is the script to Episode 4 of #RomanceClass’ Hello Ever After series produced in 2020.)

Buy it here.

Please feel free to share this with your friends or anyone you think would like to add one of both of these titles in their library. Thank you very much! <3

3 Takeaways from the Waiting in the Wings book tour

So… this is two months late, but I can’t not write about my amazing experience with Talk Bookish To Me, AKA the community of readers and content creators who organized the book tour for Waiting in the Wings.

Yup, I had another book tour this year! (Check out my BookLoverTitas collaboration for Connect the Hearts~)

I just figured that since I’m planning to release another book next year, I should reintroduce my backlist to new readers. So I reached out to Talk Bookish To Me for a collaboration, and they did a week-long feature for my theatre babies Erin, Ramon, and Pio on the first week of September.

I remember having a Zoom meeting with some of the TBTM members and their admin, Emman, asking me: “What are your expectations from us?”

I was a little stumped. What did I expect nga ba? Honestly, the only thing I wanted out of this book tour is new readers who would be interested in my books, so I just told them to do whatever they wanted and to surprise me. 🙂

And surprise me, they did. For seven days, Avy, Obi, Shian, Ceej, Jesh, CL, Nyz, Mark, and Veron featured my book in various creative ways. I was so kilig! One of them even made me cry. *points to the post below*

So yeah—here are my three takeaways from the Waiting in the Wings book tour with Talk Bookish To Me!

Cover Reveal: Waiting in the Wings (special illustrated cover edition)

It’s here! It’s here! It’s heeeeeeere!

It’s cover reveal day, folks—and YES, I know. I’ve done this before. For this very book, in fact. The beauty of being a self-published author, folks: You can do whatever you want with your book, just because. And because I met an artist whose work I really liked and I just really wanted an illustrated cover for Waiting in the Wings, I did exactly that.

I wanted to capture a moment in the book that’s been sorta-kinda immortalized through a couple of live readings but couldn’t really capture in my 2024 photo cover. Figured illustration was the best way to do it, and I’m so, so happy because @rwiizo definitely delivered the feels~!

And so here it is, the special illustrated cover edition of Waiting in the Wings!
