3 Takeaways from the Connect the Hearts blog tour!

So back in May, I sought the help of a wonderful group of bookish ladies who call themselves BookLoverTitas to organize a book tour for my latest release, Connect the Hearts. The tour ran from June 7 to 18, with 12 bookish titas participating, and they did such an amazing job. They kept me on my toes, anticipating their posts every day, and I loved that they enjoyed the book a lot.

I’d been holding off on actually posting about this because we were supposed to have a face-to-face meetup last weekend and I wanted to include photos of us on this post. But alas, the weather put a damper on our plans and we had to reschedule.

Anyway, this post is long overdue, so let me just do it before laziness gets a hold of me. These are my 3 Takeaways from the Connect the Hearts Book Tour:

Keeping Miss Kalila is FIVE!

Do all of you ever feel like time has been running so quickly? I’m always in some kind of mild shock when my babies (my books, lol) turn a year older. Like…what do you mean Keeping Miss Kalila is now five years old?

I released Keeping Miss Kalila on April 1st of the year the whole world shut down because of COVID. We were in a very uncertain, very scary situation and I wasn’t even sure if releasing a new book at the time was a smart move. But I did, and after I while I received messages from readers who said they found comfort in Datu and Kalila’s love story, which made me feel like I made the right decision.

But a book is never too “old” for anyone who’s just discovering them, and here’s your chance to discover Datu and Kalila’s love story too. To celebrate the book’s fifth birthday, Keeping Miss Kalila is now available for only $0.99 on Amazon!

I have a new book coming out!

Yep, you read that right! I’m working on a new short story collection which I’m planning to release in March, and here’s a sneak peek of the cover that I’ve commissioned Filipino artist Lori Rebluna to create:

Tara, what’s the new book about?

It’s a collection of short stories, kind of similar with What If We Fall In Love?, but some of them are in epistolary form. If you have been following my publishing journey closely, you may have consumed some of these short stories in some shape or form in the last 4-5 years. These are previously published somewhere on the internet, and I felt that they needed a “container” of some sort, so I’ve compiled them in this one book.

When’s it coming out?

The target date of release for digital is the second week of March, just in time for the 2025 Philippine Book Festival. The print release will hopefully come in time for #RomanceClass April Feels Day 2025.
