Yep, I did play it by ear this time.

So let me start this blog post with a tweet down memory lane:

You read that right, folks. It’s been (almost!!!) a year since I started writing the second book in the Backstage Pass series,┬áPlay It By Ear, and I cannot be more relieved that I’m finally releasing the book soon. We’ve had a couple of false starts, starting with a very early cover reveal (haha, that was just me being a) impatient, and b) unable to keep Shai San Jose‘s awesome art to myself), but this is the real deal, my friends. I mean…there’s a release date and all, and I am prepping the final, final,┬áFINAL┬áversion of the manuscript as of this writing.

Can I say, OHMAHGAWD?

And yeah, in case you missed it, here’s the official announcement…plus a couple more things you need to know:

Backtracking a bit: My #SparkNA journey

It’s been almost a month since the #SparkNA writing workshop came to a close, and I never really got around to writing about the experience–or I did, but in increments over the past few months–because 1) things got crazy at work, and; 2) I think I’m still in denial that it had already ended.

During our second and last face-to-face class on the 6th of June, our mentor, Mina, asked us to answer three questions: What went right? What went wrong? And: What’s next?

It’s funny how most of our responses were very similar; I guess it’s true what they say about birds of the same feather, haha. Anyway, I think this whole experience merits another round of . . .

Movie date this Saturday? ^_^

VertPoster If I’ve been very busy these past few weeks, it’s because of this baby right here–a first attempt (for me and my MA, Liezel) to organize a block screening event under the company I work for, Modworld Production Management, Inc.┬áThe event is finally happening this Saturday, and I’m equal parts thrilled and terrified, just like I was when we staged the Koala’s March Grand Family Day in November of last year. Compared to that event, of course, this one is of a smaller scale, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t as challenging.

So yes–have you bought tickets from me yet? ^_^ If you haven’t, I sincerely wish you would. Ha. Ha. <3

No, but seriously, if you have nothing to do on a Saturday night–that’s this Saturday, June 13th (8:00 PM)–come join us for this Jurassic World block screening event. Early birds get freebies from our sponsors~ and maybe even game and raffle prizes if you’re the type to be lucky. You can visit the Modworld website for tickets, or you can contact me directly at modworld.tara@gmail.com. ^_^

What I really (really) want

And so we’ve come down to this: a month left to go before everyone in our #SparkNA class has to turn in our┬áfinished manuscripts for Anvil Publishing to review. Today, we all received a pep talk in the form of an email and while I usually read and re-read Mina’s emails to us several times within the day before moving on with my life, I didn’t do that today. Why?

Because she posed such a loaded question that my mind just exploded. And I had to pick up the pieces all day long.

Yes, while struggling with a bunch of other stuff at work. Thanks a lot, Mina.

Of Three-Legged Monsters

Last night, My friend Therese sent us this photo via Viber, and┬ásaid (not verbatim), “I’m about to make one of those three-legged creatures soon. I don’t know which is better: for it to be ignored, or ripped apart.”

Hit me right in the feels.
