#AprilFeelsDay2023 was a blast!

So #AprilFeelsDay2023 was two Saturdays ago, and it was a fun time, as always, seeing old faces, meeting new friends, celebrating the release of new books, and squealing in kilig hearing scenes from our books being read back to us. This is the SEVENTH #AprilFeelsDay we’ve had (the first one was in 2017! Imagine that!) and the first in-person one since 2020, so it felt like the first time all over again (yes, even if we got to do an in-person #FeelsFest event in October last year).

Here are some highlights from #AprilFeelsDay2023:

  • TypeKita x #RomanceClass — TypeKita is a new app where authors can create stories in chat/short messaging format. Think tweetseryes and chatfics that have become popular in the past few years, but all in one app. TypeKita has invited #RomanceClass to become early adopters, and even put together a contest in time for April Feels Day! During the event, they announced #romanceclass authors Layla Tanjutco, H. Bentham, and Jay E. Tria as the winners of the contest and awarded them with prize money as well as FoodPanda gift certificates. Fun!
  • Komiket x #RomanceClass — After the success of last year’s collaboration with Komiket, we’re about to have a new milestone! Komiket will be launching a new imprint with #romanceclass called Blush Books, which will feature art by Komiket artists. Mina V. Esguerra announced that the first batch of Blush Books will include Danice Mae P. Sison’s Flipping the Script, Brigitte Bautista’s You, Me, U.S., Jay E. Tria’s You Out of Nowhere, and Dawn Lanuza’s LUVBYTE Series!
  • New books! — I got to officially launch my latest book, What If We Fall In Love? and release it in print for the first time during #AprilFeelsDay2023! Aside from that, we also celebrated the release of Dawn Lanuza’s Five Stars and Noted (from the LUVBYTE Series) as well as our anthology, Pawfect For You.
  • Live readings! — Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to change our live reader line-up on the day of the event, but!!! It was always great to see Jef Flores, whom we’ve only met through a Streamyard screen since 2020. We also got to meet a new friend, MNor Madamesila, who did such a great job even if it’s her first time reading for us. If you missed the event and want to watch the program, you can do that on our Twitch channel. Special shoutout by the way, to Miles Tan, for handling our event livestream like a real profesh!

Meanwhile, you can check out this video I put together for some funny bits from the live reading program:

#AprilFeelsDay2023 is our second major event this year, and there will be more! So if you missed this one and want to attend our future events, please follow #romanceclass on Instagram or Twitter! Hope to catch see you soon~
