I haven’t done this in a while, but let me do something new just because. I’m going to introduce two Twitter accounts today, @eastgenproject and @KaipuhanKafe, both “managed” by fictional characters from stories I wrote.
In April, I joined a writing workshop called #SparkNA, which brought forth to the world (in a manner of speaking) a Korean pop-rock band called East Genesis Project aka EG Project. In the process of creating these characters, I’ve always had the urge to write side stories and interviews involving them and putting those together in some pseudo-band website. Of course, I never really got around to doing that yet, but I did start this:
Currently, the first several chapters of the novel Scandalized is available for preview on Wattpad. I’m not sure yet how things are going to fare for us #SparkNA workshoppers in the following months, but I am working on a second book in the same fictional universe. Trying, let me add. I have been thinking of getting the first one beta-read first before I really move on with the second book. It’s a 40K+ manuscript–any takers?
Meanwhile, Kaipuhan Kafe is a fictional, magical cafe featured in my #StrangeLit novella, The “Forget You” Brew, and Tim is its proprietor-slash-barista.
There should be a second book to this novella too, but somehow, I ended up writing a prequel . . . which doesn’t seem like it’ll reach novella length, but still. The second book might have to wait.
